10 Fun Ways to Use The Guest Cam at Your Wedding

July 16, 2026

Most couples picture one thing when they hear "wedding cameras": a stack of them scattered across the reception tables. That's a great start, but it's just one of many ways to put The Guest Cam to work on your big day. Here are 10 ideas to get more out of your rental.

1. One Per Table, Every Table

The classic setup for a reason. Give every table its own camera and you'll get a completely different set of candids from each one, since every table has its own inside jokes, its own energy, and its own version of the night.

2. A Scavenger Hunt Prompt Card

Drop a small card next to each camera with a few prompts: "the best dance move," "someone mid-laugh," "a hug in progress." It turns picking up the camera into a little game instead of an afterthought, and you end up with a much wider variety of shots.

3. In the Getaway Car

Tuck one in the car you're leaving in. Whoever's driving (or riding along) can grab a few shots of the exit, and you'll have a camera-roll ending to match the one at the start of the night.

4. A Dedicated "Camera Crew"

Hand a camera to two or three close friends or siblings and ask them to carry it with them through the night instead of leaving it on a table. You'll get photos from the dance floor, the smoke break, the hallway conversation, the places a table-bound camera would never reach.

5. At the Guest Book or Welcome Table

Set one out where guests sign in. It's often the first stop of the night, so you'll catch early arrivals, first impressions, and the excitement before the ceremony even starts.

6. By the Bar or Lounge Area

This is usually where people relax and talk the most. A camera nearby tends to pick up some of the most natural, unposed shots of the whole event.

7. With the Flower Girl or Ring Bearer

Kids take wonderfully unpredictable photos. Handing one to a younger member of the bridal party almost always produces something nobody else would have thought to capture.

8. In the Bridal Suite While Getting Ready

The morning-of moments, nervous laughter, last looks in the mirror, someone doing up a zipper, rarely get captured by anyone but a hired photographer. A camera in the room with you and your wedding party fills that gap.

9. At the Dessert or Late-Night Snack Table

By the time dessert comes out, guests are looser and having more fun. It's one of the most reliably candid spots to have a camera waiting.

10. Passed Around During the Send-Off

Whether it's a sparkler exit or guests waving you off, let a camera make one last lap through the crowd. It's a nice way to close out the roll with photos of the people who were there for it, not just the couple leaving.

However you place them, the goal is the same: more perspectives, more corners of the room covered, and more of the night captured through the eyes of the people who were actually there with you. When your cameras come back, everything gets pulled together into one shareable digital gallery, so all those different pockets of the party end up in the same place.
